Currently, there are over 3000 lions, tigers and bears in American backyards. Exactly how many are there? We don't know. Add to that ~3000 approximation however many exotics live in Alabama, Nevada, North Carolina and Wisconsin-- none of which require any registration or licensure of exotic beasts. Other states are a patchwork of various levels of oversight.
Is this a problem? Yes!
